May 8, 1976, as an official Bicentennial event, the Pima Air Museum was dedicated and opened to the public. The collection now contains more than 200 examples. Many are rare and some can be seen nowhere else.
In May 1986 the Pima Air Museum opened the "Titan Missile Museum", located in Green Valley, Arizona; it consists of a former Titan II Missile in its underground silo.
